About the conference
International and interdisciplinary the “Security, Democracy and Cities” 2021 conference is organised by the European Forum for Urban Security in Nice.
Unique in its field, this event is geared towards all those involved in urban security: elected officials, civil servants, national administration, magistrates, law enforcement agencies, social workers, researchers, and representatives of the private sector and civil society.
Efus’ “Security, Democracy and Cities” international conference, originally scheduled in November, will be held on 26, 27 and 28 May 2021 in Nice (FR). Last month, we announced that this conference, a key moment in the life of our association, had to be postponed because of the uncertainties linked to the Covid-19 sanitary crisis, in particular on travel. Efus wishes to thank its partners, notably the City of Nice, for having reorganised their schedule so swiftly.
Due to the evolution of the sanitary crisis and in a context where the ability to travel is still uncertain, we have decided to postpone our international “Security, Democracy & Cities” conference, initially supposed to take place on November 25, 26 and 27 this year. In order to welcome you in the best conditions, ensure a full European participation and to guarantee the international dimension of this gathering, we invite you to join us in spring 2021. The exact dates will be communicated shortly.
During its General Assembly meeting held in Augsburg (DE) on 26 June 2019, Efus chose Nice (FR) as the host city of its 2020 “Security, Democracy and Cities” international conference. A key event in the network’s life, the conference will be dedicated to the exchange of practices, experience and knowledge on urban security.
The Conference will host high-level speakers who will reflect the diversity of security and urban life including elected representatives, staff from local, national and international authorities, university researchers, members of the civil society and the private sector.
